WHAT WE DO
When you think of systems integration , you visualize all of the parts and pieces it takes to make a system work. Now imagine all of the other places where you may have seen live multi-camera video: sports stadiums, large churches with video screens, city council chambers, event centers, etc. At Birns and Sawyer, we meet, discuss and determine your facility’s needs to make a system that works for you. We want to know what is important to you; what are you trying to achieve? What are your program objectives? What are your budgets? Timescales and deadlines.
DESIGN AND PROPOSAL
Once the needs are determined, our experts will create a document that will define the needs of the facility so that both the client and the integrators agree on what basic equipment is needed and a plan can truly begin. After this analysis, a technical drawing will be created to determine all of the parts of the principle elements of production: cameras, servers, control rooms, editing suites, satellite uplinks, projectors and all of the connections in between. This document is essential. A poorly designed workflow can result in a system that is not able to handle the demands of your content and will result in frustration, missed deadlines, and poor quality. A well-designed workflow results in efficient and cost effective productions, smooth operations and a system ready to more easily upgrade over time.
After the technical drawings are created a detailed list of equipment is created. This can often be hundreds items from many different manufacturers. Calculations of time for the full design of the system, creating a CAD drawing, acquiring the needed equipment, installation and labeling, and producing diagrams and operations manuals will be made and a quote drawn up.
IMPLEMENT AND SUPPORT
The implementation phase deals with procurement, pre-fabrication, configuration, testing, inspection, delivery, logistics, installation, commissioning and training. You will now have your configured system ready to use alongside your team who now know how to use it.
